Saraswati Puja 2020

The South Madras Cultural Association (SMCA) Pujo Committee are pleased to invite you for Saraswati Puja, on Wednesday, 29th January, 2020, to seek the blessings of Maa Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge, music and art, on the auspicious occasion of Saraswati Puja. Your active participation and mutual co-operation will make the grand ceremony successful. Hoping your presence would add to the joy and increase the glamour of the day.

We will arrange kichuri bhog for the lunch and luchi along with side dishes (only veg) for the dinner for members and their guests. 
Please book this event and let us know your availability, this will help us in planning and avoiding food waste. 
Note: We will have only vegetarian food arrangement for lunch and dinner.

Annual Picinic 2020

Dear Member, Like every year this year also we are ready with picnic. Picnic venue booked for 26th January at Lakshmi Gardens ECR . We will spend the day with our extended SMCA family with food, drinks and lots of indoor and out door games. Please book the event from event section and confirm your participation by transferring the amout. Looking forwad to have you in our picnic.

Here are contribution decided for picnic. Members + Family members : Rs 300 per head . For kids below 6 years : free. Kids 6 to 12 : 200. Members guests : Rs 500 per head.

Sri Sri Kali Puja 2019

Dear Members of SMCA Family,

 
After the satisfying Durga Puja celebration, we will be celebrating Kali Puja at the TNHB Community Hall, Besant Nagar from 8.00PM onwards( same venue as Durga Puja) on 27th of October 2019, Sunday. We look forward to the same enthusiasm from all of you to be present at the venue to end our month long celebration. 
 
As in other years, we encourage members this year also, to bring their fireworks materials to the venue. From the Association, we will also supplement the stock. 
 
However going by the directive of Supreme Court, only the non sounding fireworks will be allowed. We expect a strict vigilance by police on this aspect, so request you all to selectively choose the fireworks while buying. 
 
We will have lucky draw out of the coupons attached in the Souvenir. So if you have not collected the souvenir please do so that day. There are other programs also (please refer to our Secretary’s detailed post in Telegram in this regard) as well including sumptuous dinner to end the day. Please inform Prodyot Ghosh / Sanjit Chatterjee / Siddhartha Kundu, in case you have guests for dinner (charges extra). This will help us in our estimation.

Mahalaya Program 2019

Durgapuja countdown has started. To usher in this year’s festivities SMCA shall be celebrating the Mahalaya this year at the CLRI auditorium , Madhya Kailash signal , opposite IIT gate on the 28th September 2019, Saturday from 7 pm onwards. We will have a cultural show of dance drama followed by dinner.

Durgapuja Celebration 2019

The festive season of Autumn is here once again. This is the time MAA DURGA visits us with her children. We will Celebrate this joyous occasion with full devotion and fervour.

The 41st Sharadotsav of our association and Sri Sri DURGA PUJA will be celebrated from 3rd October to 8th October 2019 at the TNHB Community Hall, Besant Nagar, Chennai 600090.

Durga Puja will start with Bodhan and will be followed by Sri Sri Lakshmi Puja and Sri Sri Kali Puja as per programme.

Puja will be inaugurated on 4th October 2019 at 6.30PM at TNHB Community Hall, Besant Nagar.

You are cordially invited to participate in the Puja and cultural programmes with your family and friends.
